A TIME OF REMARKABLE GROWTH
Capable. Curious.
Becoming Independent.
Two- and three-year-olds are discovering just how much they can do for themselves. They want to choose, carry, pour, wash, speak, help, and take part in the world around them.
Our educators support this growing independence with patience, meaningful choices, and consistent routines, while intentionally small groups allow us to know each child closely and respond to their individual needs.

“Help me do it myself.”
Every small success builds confidence.

THE TODDLER YEARS MATTER
So Much Is Changing,
And We’re Growing With Them.
Between ages two and three, children experience remarkable growth in language, movement, independence, social awareness, and self-control.
At CBMA, everyday moments become meaningful opportunities for learning. Putting on a jacket, carrying a tray, waiting for a turn, finding the words to express a need, and completing a task independently all help children build skills they will carry with them into the Primary classroom and beyond.

Independence is growing every day.

more THAN PRESCHOOL
Purposeful Learning for Growing Minds
Our Young Preschool Program combines Montessori principles, intentional teaching, bilingual language experiences, and purposeful movement to support the whole child during this important stage of development.

PRACTICAL LIFE & INDEPENDENCE
Everyday Montessori activities invite children to pour, carry, clean, prepare, organize, and care for themselves and their environment. These purposeful experiences strengthen coordination, concentration, independence, and confidence.

SMALL GROUPS, MORE INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION
Our teacher-to-child ratio is intentionally kept well below California requirements, giving educators more time to know each child closely, respond to individual needs, and provide meaningful guidance throughout the day.

Bilingual From the Beginning
English is complemented by meaningful Mandarin and Spanish experiences woven naturally throughout the day through songs, stories, conversation, movement, and everyday classroom interactions.

Purposeful Movement
Intentional movement and outdoor experiences help children strengthen balance, coordination, body awareness, and confidence while developing healthy habits and a lifelong enjoyment of being active.

“The education of even a small child, therefore, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life.”

— MARIA MONTESSORI

EVERYDAY INDEPENDENCE
Little Routines.
Big Steps.

Learning to care for oneself is an important part of the Young Preschool years. Children are encouraged to participate in everyday routines such as handwashing, dressing, cleaning up, and caring for their belongings.
Toilet learning is supported as a natural part of this growing independence. Our teachers provide consistent routines, gentle reminders, and encouragement based on each child’s developmental readiness.
We partner closely with families during this important transition so that children experience consistency between home and school while building confidence at their own pace.

Familiar Rhythms Help Children Thrive
A DAY WITH PURPOSE
Young children feel more secure and confident when they know what comes next. Our daily rhythm balances Montessori work, language, movement, outdoor experiences, meals, rest, and personal care while allowing flexibility for individual needs.

CARE & FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Growing Together
Young children change quickly, and no two children grow in exactly the same way. We work closely with families to understand each child’s personality, routines, communication, interests, and emerging independence.
Through our family communication app, parents receive updates about their child’s day, including meals, rest, toileting, classroom activities, and meaningful moments of learning and growth.
Especially during important transitions such as toilet learning, we work together with families to create consistency between home and school.

Strong partnerships help children feel secure, supported, and known.

READY FOR WHAT COMES NEXT
Growing Toward Primary
As children grow in independence, language, concentration, self-care, and comfort with classroom routines, they begin preparing for the next stage of their Montessori journey.

As children approach Primary, we support them in developing independent toileting, self-care, and the confidence to participate comfortably in the routines of a Primary Montessori classroom.
Independent toileting is expected before transitioning into our Primary Program.
Our educators thoughtfully support each child through this transition so they can move forward with familiarity, confidence, and excitement for what comes next.
